2.) A physician may not issue a medical marijuana recommendation in the form of smokable marijuana for patients under 18 years of age unless the patient has a terminal illness. 3.) The minor’s parent must provide the Office of Medical Marijuana Use with a written request, clearly giving consent for the patient to use medical marijuana products. 4.) Patients under the age of 18 must designate a caregiver in the medical marijuana card application and in the Medical Marijuana Use Registry.
5.) Minors may not physically purchase the medical marijuana in Florida’s program. Qualified patients under the age of 18 must have their caregiver purchase and administer their medical marijuana products.
